Grid on Tap "[allowed] others to turn their programs into distributed computing projects much like Seti@Home, so that other Grid on Tap users can process the work." The platform had an NNTP news server. The client used Microsoft's .NET framework (you had to have .NET installed on your system to run the client). Beta version 1.0.000 of the client was available for Windows as of August 22, 2003. A Linux client was in development.
